Events

The Honey Grove Chamber of Commerce hosts several community wide events each year. In addition, the Chamber works with other organizations in the area to sponsor events and activities that enhance the quality of life in Honey Grove and the surrounding community.

BUGTUSSLE TREK - On August 23, 2008 a long caravan of vintage vehicles will pull into the square in Honey Grove as part of the Bug Tussle Trek. These vehicles, which come from far and wide to take part in the "Trek", stop in Honey Grove so the drivers can enjoy lunch at the Honey Grove ISD Learning Center. 2008 marks the 40th year of the "Trek". The Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a part of this wonderful event every year and we encourage the public to come to the square, congratulate the "trekkers" on 40 years of making this trip and enjoy looking at the vintage vehicles while they are here.

DAVY CROCKETT FESTIVAL - October 4, 2008 The first Saturday in October each year is set aside for the annual Davy Crockett Festival. This is the day that Honey Grove honors the memory of Davy Crockett, who, legend tells us is responsible for the town's name. The town square is filled with singing, arts and crafts, food vendors of all kinds, a chili cook-off, and much more. VENDORS - contact our Chamber Office to register. CHRISTMAS ON THE SQUARE - December 6, 2008. Come celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season in downtown Honey Grove. Enjoy a Christmas Bazaar and other activities around the square. Vendor spaces available. The annual parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. and of course, no celebration would be complete without a visit from the Jolly Old Elf himself! Santa will visit with the children in the gazebo following the parade. More information to follow!!!

CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES - December 14, 2008 Spend the afternoon in the country touring beautiful homes all decked out for Christmas! Some old...some new...all beautiful! More details to follow!!!
